Minimalist Designs Redefine Carry-On Style and Function

LAT56° is an edgy and innovative new travel brand from Scotland that focuses on streamlined functionality and bold styling. The brand launched exclusively at Selfridges in the UK – autumn 2010. The Selfridges launch included LAT56°’s Rat-Pak™ and Red-Eye™ compact carry-on’s from the Urban Warrior™ collection as well as the TPS Suit Packing System. The Rat-Pak is as sleek as it gets. Designed for one-night travel where a change of shirt, socks and suit is all you need, the Rat-Pak is the shape and size of a futuristic violin case or a carrier for James Bond’s most secret weapon. The Rat-Pak is designed to compliment your favourite piece of rolling luggage.

The Red-Eye is a larger carry-on version of Rat-Pak with room for folded clothes, shoes and a travel kit. It also includes small zip accessories pockets. Both of these styles incorporate a garment chamber that provides a space-saving, anti-wrinkle garment hanger and cover called the Torso Protection System (TPS). TPS is also sold separately and can be utilized in more traditional and wheeled cases.

Modern and minimalist, these designs are made from an exclusive, military-grade EVA material that acts as a soft, flexible and lightweight impact and water-resistant shell. The exterior is completely contemporary and features an artfully embossed pattern. Inside are patented features for the ultimate in wrinkle-free and efficient packing. The smooth, covered exterior zippers are practically invisible, adding to the totally unique look of these cases.

Retail pricing for the three Urban Warrior collection styles range from £80 to £250. They will be available in Selfridges exclusively from September 2010 onwards. Additional travel and business-related products are planned for introduction - Summer 2011.
